Aubin LAMBERT arrived in Nouvelle-France around 1660 with the Carignan-Salières Regiment that was under the command of Lieutenant General, Alexander de PROUVILLE.
As Sieur of Tracy, Aubin was listed as LAMBERT dit CHAMPAGNE. He married a "Daughter of the King" (Fille du Roi), Élisabeth AUBERT, the daughter of defunct Michel AUBERT and Jeanne AUBERT, in the parish of Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix, Québec City in 1670-12-29. Aubin was 38 years of age, his wife, Élisabeth, was 34. According to parish registries, the couple had 10 children:
