Connie LEMONDE from Rhode Island
I have just received a message from CONNIE telling me about her recent activities. I thought you'd be interested in knowing that she is still being creative by writing, publishing & painting. Read about them in her own words:
I just finished a new minibook (5" x 3.5"). I updated and changed the info in the little one that I made all my myself years ago (called Adapting to Living Alone), whi...ch was directed mostly to women. The new one, for both women and men, is called Surviving Living Alone and it is published by Viovio, a photo-book publisher.I never expected to be able to do this because POD publishers don't do color--and I never found one that made the mini size that I wanted. I have no idea what it will look like, but it's being printed this week.
Now I'm working on a painting called From heaven to earth, through FAMILY. This is my third attempt! Hope to get it done before September and bring it to the art exhibit in Bellingham, Mass.

Connie LEMONDE's latest book
Our favorite Franco-American author published "Changing Winds and Seasons" in April 2009. As usual, Connie bases her novels upon real-life experiences of which she is aware, not only in her personal life, but in that of people around her. This time, ALZHEIMER is the topic of Connie's novel. Anyone having been in touch with this disease will appreciate Connie's view of how a patient with Alzheimer, relatives and friends may all be affected by the condition."Changing Winds and Seasons,"

Eugène RICHER dit LAFLÈCHE (1871-1925)
The group took hold in the province of Québec and soon spread to francophone areas in Canada and the U.S. A house in Westport, MA was purchased and members settled in the area during the mid-1920's; but, they have since dispersed.
At the beginning of March 2009, a former member of the mission came forth and divulged her experience of 30 or so years as a member of the MISSION, which is now considered a sect and which is still flourishing in Québec. The Québec government has been "watching" the MIssion for several years because of their unauthorized schooling of members' children, but nothing seems to have been done thus far to shut down these schools.

Connie LEMONDE, a favorite Franco-American
from
Woonsocket, RI
Like many people in Rhode Island, Connie is of Québec ancestry and proud of it. Among her many activities, she continues to promote the French language via various Franco-American organizations. The French caption on Québec license plates, "Je me souviens" is part of the core of her life.

Richard SÉVIGNY

Thanks to Richard SÉVIGNY's son, John, I've d
iscovered the artwork of this talented and prolific Franco-American. Like many of our Québec ancestors, Richard inherited their artistic capabilities that bring us such pleasure when relatives accept to share them with us, as has done John.
Richard was born in 1947 in Hingham, MA, the son of Harold SÉVIGNY and Mary Ernestine STEVENS.

Another book by Connie LEMONDE
Connie was born in Woonsocket, RI, the child of parents, who were lured to New England to work, as were countless French-Canadians of their day. She is one of many descendants of "Quebecers," who enjoy sharing their heritage through their artistic and literary endeavors.
